About

This is a blog dedicated to new indie, alternative, folk, rock, and [insert obscure genre here] music. Based in Minneapolis, but currently attending college in Indiana. Feel free to send in submissions of your own music or music that you just love and want others to hear (see the Contact/Submissions page). I read every e-mail, so don’t be shy.

A little about me:

I love the idea of making old things new again. I shop locally, I love Etsy, and Goodwill is like a second home to me. I don’t care what anyone has to say about thrift stores being dirty/cheap, etc. If I can find a designer bag for $5, I’m happy.

I bike everywhere, out of necessity more than anything. I can’t drive because my peripheral vision is nonexistent, but I see biking as an opportunity for adventure and fun.

I spend way too much time/money in coffee shops, but I think they’re delightful. Is anything better than the scent of coffee beans and the sound of people chattering and clacking away on their keyboards? I think not.

I’m always trying to find my inner artist. I’m a thinker, and while this is great it often creates a creative block. I adore music, and am forever grateful for the technology that lets me take it everywhere. I’m a cellist, singer, drummer and guitarist.

Obviously I love new music, and am ecstatic when I discover a great new band. But, for reasons unbeknownst to me I occasionally fall in love with a super shallow, top 100 song. So maybe I’m not a hipster at all.

I’m pretty sure I’m going through an existential crisis almost every day, but it’s exciting, this life. I’m just trying to figure it all out.

Sometimes I write for 89.3 the Current’s blog as well.

Thanks for visiting!
